“Partagas Selección Pirámides 2003”

Partagas Selección Pirámides 2003I got this piramides in a sampler box of 5. Thought I would check out the Cohiba and Partagas for this special release.

A beautiful cigar with a wonderful think smoke and a great draw. There is sweet cedar on the draw, sour citrus on the tongue, oak in the aftertaste and scent. In short, a medium bodied toasted smoke with a lovely sweet and sour woody flavor. I rate it 88 from a single stick dated 2003.

“Por Larrañaga Petit Corona”

These Petit Coronas are hyped as the best small cigar from Cuba. For years I have been trying to see the “fame” in these Por Larrañaga. After smoking the equivalent of a box of these “under the radar” cigars, I have yet to taste what the hype is all about.

There is grass on the draw, toast on the tongue, oak in the aftertaste and cedar in the scent. This is a light bodied cigar with hints of wet grass, pepper and burnt notes in moderations. Lovers and Aficionados of Por Larrañaga, don’t read on… Because this might be the worst Petit Corona I have ever tasted. I rate it 83 from a box dated 05/2007.

“Trinidad Robustos T”

Just got a box of twelve and I’m sitting with the first stick at the moment.

A very dry smoke with lots of woody notes. There is cream/milk on the draw, oak on the tongue, toast in the aftertaste and cedar in the scent.

The smoke is thick and the taste of cream is lovely. A full bodied cigar with crisp flavors. I rate it 88 from a box dated 06/2009.
